Abstract: This study investigates the impact of adult education on the development of interpersonal skills, examining how various educational programs contribute to improving communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution abilities among adult learners. The objectives were to assess the effectiveness of adult education in enhancing interpersonal skills, to identify specific educational approaches that foster these skills, and to evaluate the challenges faced by learners in developing interpersonal competencies. A survey research design was utilized to gather data from participants enrolled in interpersonal skills development courses, allowing for comprehensive insights into their experiences. A sample size of 350 adult learners was selected for robust analysis. The purposive sampling technique was used to target individuals actively participating in such programs. The case study was conducted in Enugu, Nigeria, where diverse adult education initiatives focus on interpersonal skills. Findings indicated that adult education significantly improved interpersonal skills, with participants showing enhanced communication and teamwork abilities. However, challenges such as limited practical application opportunities and inadequate instructional support were identified. The study recommended increasing practical training sessions and improving instructional methods to better support interpersonal skills development.
